Welcome to Cozza OpticalWho we are...

Cozza Optical began in June 1996 with its first location at North 5522 Wall Street in Spokane, Washington. Samuel Cozza started the business when he chose to leave the corporate world to provide complete, professional, yet personal optical services to the public. The Cozza’s started the business with a small amount of capital (including a $10,000 loan from Albert & Naomi Cozza, Sam’s dad & mom.

One year later in July 1997, The Cozza’s purchased the existing business of Thavis Opticians, an optical shop that had been in business since 1949. Upon leaving her traveling eyewear sales rep job Barbara began to work at the new downtown location while Sam continued at the north location.

A full lens grinding facility was purchased in January 1998, adding the capability to grind lenses in-house. This endeavor made Cozza Optical the only independently owned optical outlet to have the ability to sell, grind, edge, and dispense eyewear to the public. In July 1998 the North location suffered a devastating fire that destroyed all merchandise and furnishings. The Northside location was reopened in December 1998. We just recently moved to our new North location, located across the street from our previous store.

Sam and Barbara truly believe that the values they were taught since childhood are the best values to carry into the business with them. They both believe that you need to treat people how you want to be treated.
